Alan Moore once said, “Our environments shape the way we see ourselves. If you have been condemned to live in an area that is pretty evidently a rat-run, then sooner or later you're gonna come to the conclusion that you're a rat.” I grew up in Detroit with my mother, father, and older sister. My family strived to give me and my sister the best education so we could be ready to take on the academic challenges in the future. I maintained a 3.3 GPA and was on the honor roll since freshman year of high school. I took rigorous AP and honors classes and I became a member of the National Honors Society as a high school sophomore. I take after my mother who is a very organized and detailed person. Those traits are portrayed into my writing. Being the very emotional and detailed person that I am, that reflects on to my writing style. I write passionately about how I feel while always making sure it is in an organized and chronological order, no matter what the topic is. Given that I have written so many works on many different topics, I've pushed myself to expand my vocabulary and grow into a more developed writer while also maintaining the traits that I already use. I plan to take my writing skills to the next level as I continue my matriculation at Hampton University.
